1 — at no time did i say i felt threatened, and of course it isn’t possible to feel threatened by a poorly-characterized work of fiction because it’s not real. The point i tried to make is that, as a man, i resent how badly the male characters are drawn and how unrelatable they are to me for that reason.

2 — it’s not that the female leads are strong, it’s that they are mostly horrible people whom no one would want to spend any time with, Ruth Langmore being the absolute worst of all. It feels as if the writers of this show have been given instructions to imbue the female characters with masculine traits that enable them to stand above the true male characters of the story. The idea that scrawny Ruth Langmore would be considered such a threat by every man she meets is ludicrous given that the story is set in the male world of hardened criminals, and this preposterous concept makes the rest of the story unbelievable. In fact, i turned off season 3 the moment she spoke her first lines because i just dont want that kind of person in my home. She is NOT a feminist heroine and she should not be regarded as one because, with all her bullying, she is a very poor excuse for a human.

3 — as a man, i relate to the strong positive male role model character in everything i watch. In this show there isn’t one so…what am i paying for?
